We're raising money to help Sapphire

Link
Tonight, we found out that Sapphire, our friends' lovely Siberian Husky, has cancer.

Sapphire is a very loving dog, and we want her to get better ASAP.

We are listing all our photos of her to help pay for her MRI and other costs for recovery.

Sapphire has beat cancer before four years ago, so please help me spread the word and help her beat it again!

All proceeds from the sales (after listing/paypal and shipping fees) will go directly to Sapphire.

These listings in my shop are 100% donation to help her:

This is Sapphire's Mum.

Tuft's University and Veterinary Clinic Oncology Department has received her records and one doctor has decided to take her on as a patient. Her appointment is scheduled for January 12 at 10:30 AM. This appointment will let us know our options and we will "stage" her cancer. (Basically we will find out if it in stage 1, 2, 3, etc.) We will probably have to have an MRI at this time (or soon after) to find out if the cancer is contained or if it has spread to her organs or lymph nodes.

Thank you to everyone for all of your good wishes and prayers. And a big thank you to Aunt Jen and Uncle Rob for helping Sapphire. I was so surprised and touched when I found out about the fundraiser!

I will keep you updated. Sapphire has a determined personality and strong will to live - so if any dog can beat cancer twice, it will be her.

My Best Wishes to Sapphire! I honestly hope that Sapphire will pull through a second time!

I went through an episode with my pup shortly after adopting him, over $1500 later he was OK, without ever finding out what was wrong to begin with (but he was listless, and near death when we brought him in). I know that for me, our dogs are our best friends! I'll be watching to see updates, Sapphire is beautiful :) Sapphire will be in my thoughts and prayers!

Well, Sapphire has gone through all of her tests (and was a very good girl!) She had her tummy shaved, had an ultra-sound, and had a chest x-ray- all on top of her bloodwork- and with no anesthesia. The tests came back with good results and the cancer is confined to one area.

We now have to decide when/if to schedule her surgery. They feel they can remove the mass with semi-clean margins. But I am worried about the wound. It is a very large area and in the same spot as her last surgery; when she had a hard time healing.

If we don't do surgery, the cancer will continue to grow. So we are basically resigned to scheduling her surgery sometime next week. All good thoughts and prayers are welcome as we try to figure out the best plan of action.
